Can You Find Good Deals From Buying RVs from Owners as Compared to RV Auctions?

Generally speaking, RV auctions are the easiest way for you to get a good deal and get a discount. However, it is possible to find an RV for a lower selling price or possibly even less than the normal value of the RV. The key to do this is to find anxious sellers because they have to sell, and are desperate to sell quickly. When you find these kind of motivated sellers, you can usually make a pretty good deal with them.  You can save some money if they are willing to short sell the RV for less money than is owed, or if they own it outright and they just want to get rid of it. There are actually lots and lots of reasons why someone would want to sell their RV fast.  The downside is that it does take time to find these types of buyers.

Spend 15 to 20 hours searching for this kind of a deal before you find one. In order to be successful and save money when going to an auction, you want to find something that is at least 20 to 25% below blue book. Or at least, the owner has to offer a price that is 25% below blue book.

The advantage of going to RV auctions is that you tend to find a lot of good deals in one place.  Also, it is less work in the form of negotiations also. At the auction, you are going to find a large selection of discounted RVs. And, it doesn’t take very long to own an RV from an auction, you just have to be the highest bidder in order to win.  If you don’t like the pressure or the atmosphere of an auction, but preferred to quietly inspect and make offers, then you will probably settle for buying an RV for sale by owner. If you like to make quick decisions, and pay with cash, you will probably prefer to go to an RV auction.
