Chevrolet has made a grand production of teasing the all-new, sixth-generation Camaro.

After months of waiting, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro made its grand new model at a private event on Detroit’s Belle Isle and all the golden resources available had involved to make up the 2016 Camaro.

The car that introduced the world to the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was generally a bright red 2SS model with a two tone red and black interior.

What will be its shape?

While retaining the same basic shape, there will be long hood, joined by an even shorter, wing-topped rear deck, giving the 2016 an almost fastback-like look. The greenhouse is still slim.

We expect quad-tipped exhausts to be on at least one version of the Camaro, the rear haunches will be larger and more chiseled. The muscular aluminum hood and its accompanying power bulge will be more heavily styled than the last model car looks largely with similar size , also T-tops are also a prospect to give a more aerodynamic car, and Chevy claims the 2016 Camaro spent 350 hours in the wind tunnel, smooth underbody panel.

We assume that the automaker’s interior design team has given the new Camaro shape, especially the comprehensive interior rework Ford, less plastic, and where plastic is unavoidable, higher-quality, soft-touch elements.

Under The Skin

New sheet metal hides a version of General Motors Alpha platform, similar to the Cadillac ATS, but the platform has been reworked too much, and Chevy claims that more than 70 percent of the architectural components are specific to the Camaro. While the move to Alpha architecture may be cause for concern among those, the new platform actually can do a lot for the Camaro, contributing to a 200-pound weight reduction which is one of the most important things about the 2016 Camaro, as it brings it closer to parity with the current Ford Mustang and increasing stiffness by 28 percent above the present vehicle.

To complement the weight savings from the new platform, Chevy replaced the old front and rear suspension components with aluminum parts that are 21-percent lighter and hinted at a “rigid composite material that’s lighter than aluminum” in the new muscle car, although it stopped short of saying “carbon fiber.”

Lineup

Chevrolet Camaro

While the exterior design of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is what draws the most attention, the performance car lovers are surely concerned with what will come under the hood.

As expected, the LT1 V8 from the C7 Corvette powers the 2016 Camaro SS and the newest 3.6L V6 is also available, but the surprise is the new turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, so many people wrote the idea of a turbo-4 Camaro, the announcement makes it official that there will be a turbocharged 4-cylinder 6th gen Camaro. Also, we know that all three engines are available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

This new turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is a 2.0L mill that will deliver 275 horsepower and 295lb-ft of torque, making it quite a bit less powerful than the new 2015 Mustang Eco Boost, but GM promises that the 4-cylinder Camaro will be the most efficient Camaro ever. With power numbers like that, it should probably be the most fuel efficient car in the American muscle car segment as well.

Next, we have the new 3.6L V6, which gets the expected increase in horsepower when fitted into the engine bay of the 2016 Camaro. This new V6 delivers 335 horsepower and 284lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful of the V6 muscle cars.

Finally, the LT1 V8 that debuted in the 2014 Corvette Stingray is officially the engine of the 2016 Camaro SS and this premium engine delivers 455 horsepower and 455lb-ft of torque. This new LT1 makes the 2016 Camaro the most powerful Camaro SS of all time.

With the warranty that is given with the new Camaro, finding car spare parts will not be necessary for 5 years or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first?
