The four wheels that you own have carried you through thin and thick, in heat and across the snow for thousands of kilometres and now they are tired and worn out. That does not mean you should discard them into the old age home, the landfills as waste.

Part worn tyres, when they come close to the end of their time, people just discard them as useless and they keep on piling up in landfills. They are not wasted, they are packed with energy and valuable plastics and can be recycled and be used again in production as raw material.

How to Save Worn Out Tyres

It all depends on how worn your tyres are, some people sell them to second hand shops or they sell them to tyre recycling agencies. This process is gaining a lot of importance today.

You should understand that recycling will help to keep the waste out of landfills and will help the environment to remain pollution free as far as possible. You cannot reuse them, but you can recycle the rich material and help to reclaim. There are people who build houses out of tyres, which they call Earth ships. The houses are self-sufficient and eco friendly, you don’t need to spend much to build one.

Used tyres can be used as another option by cutting the tyre into half, you can make a water trough in your back yard for your family dog or you can also make for bedding plants and unusual planter by painting it.

Due to its quality of durability, you should not discard them off, but you can use them for many outdoor applications through your creativity and a little effort you can avoid them from piling up in landfills and thereby helping Mother Nature.

Today, branded tyre companies offer discounts for exchange of old tyres for new ones.
