on

When you’re trying to go around in the desert and look for treasure, some cars work, and some just can’t cut the environment. This article looks at ten brilliant vehicles that get the job done.

There are all sorts of conditions that can cause a car in the desert to get wholly damaged. The truth is that a lot of vehicles aren’t built to navigate treasure trails in harsh environments. Desert environments can seriously cause damage.

When it comes to car manufacturing, there is always a problem with extreme temperatures. A high temperature can cause superficial damage, plus damage to the air vents and almost everything under the hood. Many people believe that heat is actually more detrimental to a car than the cold. Immortal vehicles don’t exist, but we can think of 10 vehicles that will definitely work well in a desert environment. Let’s find out more.

1. Toyota Land Cruiser

The 2016 model is a brilliant one for taking long trips through rough terrain. It is mega sturdy,

big, and has a high four-wheel-drive that can make it through sand, rocks, and anything else you might encounter off the road. While it may be slightly inefficient in terms of getting only 15 miles to the gallon, the V8 engine can pull out a massive 350 hp. This really gives it the ability to conquer any environment it’s in.

2. The Volvo XC70 Cross Country series

We love Volvo because they manufacture brilliant quality cars that are not only safe but extremely durable. While the style may not be so desirable in today’s market, it can certainly pack a punch in a desert environment. We thoroughly rate this model because of its durability. However, the four-wheel-drive doesn’t hold up well when you’re going off-road, but you can get 30 miles to the gallon in this beauty.

3. Hummer H1

Although hummers haven’t got the best reputation these days, the 2006 model is the one that you want to take off the streets and into the desert. These vehicles have always been made for the military, so you know they’re going to last as a desert car. When we tested this model, it worked very well when traversing some extreme locations.

There’s also a lot of room in the trunk for everything that you need to take on an expedition. If you think that their engine can’t cut the mustard, then think again! It’s super sturdy, and the large tires allow you to cross just about everything from sand dunes to rivers.

4. Subaru Forester

This brand makes excellent vehicles, and their Forester does work well in both regular and off-road driving. If you’re looking to do off-road driving of your own, there are around 10 inches of ground clearance, making it very easy to tackle some challenging terrain. The traction is second to none, making it perfect for any slick roads or loose sand driving. It’s got that fabulous four-cylinder engine that can withstand a lot of heat pressure.

5. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited

Jeeps have always been an adventurous kind of vehicle and this model holds true to that. It’s a seriously spacious car, so you know you have everything you want to take with you in the trunk, but one of our favorite things is its ability to drive in low gears. If you do happen to run into the damage, the car engine parts are readily available, and you can upgrade one of these vehicles very merely. The manufacturers have pulled out all the stops to provide the best off-road car.

6. Suzuki Samurai 1995 model

We put a lot of monstrously large vehicles on this list. However, it doesn’t always mean better. This is a cruiser car that won’t sink much in harsh terrain and can help you navigate it better. It is lightweight, small and very capable in all sorts of conditions.

7. The G-Class Mercedes from 2016

You may be thinking, what’s such a luxury brand Mercedes-Benz car doing on this list, but it all makes sense once you see how this car looks. This car is an absolute tank! Anecdotally, a lot of people joke around that it is bombproof, and you’ll see why when you take it for a test drive. It’s got a seriously stiff frame and a punchy four-wheel-drive.

8. Ford Raptor

This is a beautiful pickup truck, and Ford has a brilliant reputation for creating incredible off-road vehicles. The raptor is a lot more suited for the desert than other Ford models, with its upgraded suspension and much more elevated wheel travel. You couldn’t get stuck even on a bottomless pit of sand!

9. Mitsubishi Montero SR

We love the 1990 model of this vehicle because of its powerful V6 engine, which will help you get through any desert. One of the neatest features is an adjustable suspension, so you can control how rough or smooth you want the right to be. The only downside is that they may be quite challenging to find these days, but if you can get one, it will really do the job.

10. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4WD Van

Last but not least, you may be thinking, “what’s a van doing on this list?” but there are some serious benefits to this vehicle. Intelligent four-wheel-drive, and it’s built to deal with very extreme environments. You can really have an adventure in this one, plus there will be seemingly infinite space to take everything with you.

Brilliant cars for desert driving

We guarantee that if you take any of these cars out for a spin in the desert, you won’t be disappointed. Every car engine in these models can withstand harsh environments, plus the vehicles have been built for some severe driving. When you’re out hunting treasure, they’re what you need.
